Ultimate Solutions joins the UN Global Compact

As part of a new Corporate Sustainability strategy, Ultimate Solutions recently joined the UN Global Compact project.

The UN Global Compact is the world’s largest corporate citizens’ initiative with thousands of business participants and civil society groups in more than 160 countries seeking to impact areas of human rights, labor, the environment, and anti-corruption.

This project encourages participating companies to pursue two fundamental objectives: internalize the ten principles within the company’s strategies, policies, and operations; and undertake projects to advance the broader development goals of the United Nations, particularly the Sustainable Development Goals (SDG’s) or Global Goals.

“With the effect of the pandemic, we saw the importance and relevance that companies would have in transforming working conditions and improving the quality of life of our employees. During the process we realized that contact with nature, exercise, good nutrition, empathy towards the environment, towards humanity and good governance is conducive to a healing, transformative and profound effect on the lives of all of us who are part of Ultimate Solutions, ” said Yoel Rivera, president of the company.

Rivera explained that Ultimate Solutions decided to make a Sustainability policy with what it learned from one of its resources Carllette Perez, who took an online course on the subject at Harvard University. In addition, this initiative was aligned with another business development course offered by the PRMSDC and sponsored by Johnson and Johnson.

“With all this we learned that although we have been working on several initiatives, the real result is achieved if we channel, formalize and measure our efforts. It is here that through the courses and friends of the architecture firm AD&V we learned about the effort of the voluntary initiative “United Nation Global Compact” that encourages companies around the world to adopt sustainable and socially responsible policies, and report on their implementation. It has been a creative, entertaining process that aligns perfectly with the values of our company and that gives us a specific purpose of positively and proactively impacting our society and the environment,” concluded Rivera.

“We understand that implementation of universal principles into business is a long-term process, and encourage participants to follow a path of continuous improvement. This commitment requires the sustained support of leadership through ongoing activities and partnerships, as well as a company’s engagement in dialogues, willingness to learn and dedication to practical actions”, said Sanda Ojiambo, Executive Director of the United Nations Global Compact in its welcome letter to our company.
