Ultimate Solutions joins International Coastal Cleanup for the third consecutive year

For the third consecutive year, Ultimate Solutions employees volunteered in the International Coastal Cleanup, which this year celebrated its 40th anniversary worldwide.

The event, organized in Puerto Rico by Scuba Dogs Society (SDS), brought together more than 7,000 volunteers and —according to preliminary data— resulted in the collection of over 84,335 pounds of waste across 165 coastal areas, including rivers, lakes, beaches, and green spaces.

The Ultimate Solutions team was assigned to the Playa Chatarra area in Loíza, where they collected 1,460 pounds of waste, including cigarette butts, bottles, cans, caps, and single-use plastics.

“These types of activities allow us to contribute to the care of our planet, which is everyone’s responsibility and a core part of our corporate Sustainability policy. They also help us strengthen bonds with our coworkers, friends, and families,” said Lyanne Riera, team captain and company employee.

According to data provided by Scuba Dogs Society, six out of the ten most-collected items corresponded to single-use plastics.

“Every pound collected and every piece of data recorded is a testament to the commitment of our citizens towards a cleaner and more sustainable archipelago. We deeply thank the captains, volunteers, and collaborators who made this effort possible, showing that together we can make a difference,” said Gabriel Pecunia, SDS Program Coordinator, in a previous interview.

Ultimate Solutions has a Sustainability policy aligned with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). The company implements concrete actions in the areas of environment, social impact, and governance. It has also been a participant in the United Nations Global Compact since 2022.
